INTRODUCTION TO CUSTOM PRINTED HEATSHRINK

We accept many formats: tiff, eps, bmp, jpg and gif.
   If you are sending an image that's not on this list please give us a call to ensure we can work with it. For jpeg, save your image using the best quality. Please make sure the image is 200dpi or greater (not to exceed 400dpi). We use a single color print system. This means the tubing or print can be a variety of different colors, but print itself can only be one color. For best results send your image in a two color format. Black and white. We can then take the image and print it using your selected tubing color and print color.

Graphics, bar codes, text or combinations of these, can be imprinted on heat shrink tubing from heatshrink.com. There are no tooling or set-up charges on text printing, with the exception of a modest charge when graphics are involved may apply.

GENERAL TERMS, CONDITIONS AND OTHER STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW.
We will not accept orders by phone! Orders can be accepted only if mailed or faxed. If you think about this, it only makes sense and eliminates disappointment, waste and mistakes.

Printed Heatshrink are shipped cut to length unless non-cut continuous length or perforated cut (kiss-cut) is specified.

IMPRINT COLORS:
Black, White, Red, Blue, Gold and Silver. Other colors may also be available, either in stock or special order.

HOW PERMANENT IS THIS IMPRINTING ANYWAY?
Black printing on light colored tubing is permanent and meets MIL-M-81531 for both abrasion and solvent resistance. Black printing on black tubing also meets this spec but is not recommended, for obvious reasons. See, you do learn things by reading fine print.

The print permanence of White, Blue, Red, Gold and Silver print does not precisely meet the MIL Spec, but they are tough enough for 99% of all applications.

Also, when you shrink the tubing, the imprinted image shrinks with it. In other words, if you think 4 point type is small now, imagine it after the shrinking! In addition, really good shrink tubing (which is the only kind we use) shrinks mostly its diameter not its length. So, the imprinted stuff on the label will end up looking a little "squashed." You may want to stretch the vertical aspect (do not exceed maximum height guide) to match the amount you'll be shrinking the tubing for your specific application. Even though 2 to 1 ratio tubing will shrink to 1/2 its original diameter and our special 3 to 1 ratio heat shrink tubing will shrink down to 1/3 of the original diameter, the actual diameter after shrinking will depend on the diameter of the object you are shrinking the tubing over. MAXIMUM HEIGHT GUIDE FOR IMPRINT. The tubing is flattened for printing, the following are height guide dimensions for each diameter of tubing. All your imprinted image (including stretched graphics, text and bar codes) must fit within the height guide dimensions. HOW MUCH CAN I SAY ON WHAT LENGTH HEATSHRINK™? The size of text is measured in "points." A point is 1/72 of an inch. Here are the available point sizes of type and how many characters (approximately) will fit on single 1" lengths of tubing and how many characters (approximately) will fit on each additional inch (length) of tubing: • The total standard maximum length is 6 inches. • The standard font is Helvetica and is available in normal, bold, oblique (italic) or bold oblique (italic).
